Boo at the Zoo

This is one of my all-time FAVORITE Halloween outings...Boo at the Zoo! The kids dress in their halloween costumes and get to spend the day at the zoo, where they have all kinds of special activities including "trick-or-treating" throughout the zoo! It started out to be a bit on the chilly side this year, but we forged ahead, and eventually the clouds moved on and the sun came out. We invited Linsey, Lily, and Graeme to come along and take full advantage of my zoo pass, which includes free tram, train, and carousel rides! Kayli was dressed as a cotton candy princess...

Graeme gets so excited, he starts chanting "oo,oo,oo,oo!"

Whoa...Going NONSTOP!

Wow, the school year kicked in and we have been going non-stop!!!We've been taking advantage of every beautiful sun-filled day, and every spare minute of our time outside school, that is, in addition to completing homework assignments, practicing reading out loud, and practicing spelling words most nights of the week. We were both having fun but also getting a bit overwhelmed with all the directions we were being pulled, so we pulled out of a few things for a while so we could "re-group" and re-gain our footing along this trail called "life!" If only all our days were as simple and carefree as the pictures below...

The Pumpkin Patch

This is absolutely my all-time favorite time of year, when the leaves start to change colors, the weather is in the 60s or 70s, every day is a great day to be outside, and as soon as the pumpkin patches open, we're on our way!  There is always waaay more to do than just picking out a pumpkin...

 

 

 

 

Fall Fun!

The Family Tree Nursery has a fabulous Fall event each year that I love to go to! There are lots of fun activities for the kids, and lots of beautiful plants, flowers, and gardening items on sale for the grownups! Once again...fun was had by all, and I came home with some beautiful mums!
