Chinese New Year/ A 15 Day Party!

Chinese New Year starts with the New Moon on the first day of the new year (this year, January 26th, 2009) and ends on the full moon 15 days later. In China, they do a lot of getting together for dinners and celebrating family during this time. Lots of festive dishes are prepared (Who doesn't love that?)The 15th day of the new year is culminated with the Lantern Festival, which is celebrated at night with lantern displays and children carrying lanterns in a parade. Wow, who couldn’t love a party that lasts for 15 days?!!!
Kayli is wearing the same silk outfit we bought in China 2 years ago when she was 20 months old. Of course we had the pant legs rolled up quite a bit back then. (See last picture) We use this outfit for silky soft “jammies” in the winter. Looks like the last year for this size. My sweet pea is growing!

Happy New Year!
Xin Nian Kuai Le!
