Jiggle Jam Fun!
Kayli had a great time at the Jiggle Jam Festival with her new "baby friend" Lily. Kayli told Lily's mama not to worry because she would take care of her baby. She was so cute as she talked to Lily and stroked her little hands and handed her Gerber puffs. Lily was entertained just watching Kayli. She would grin ear to ear when Kayli spoke to her. Kayli wasn't sure what to do when Lily was "on the loose" and trying to crawl up the front of her, grabbing onto anything for stability.
Kayli begged to put her swimsuit on and run in the fountains, but once she made a single "run-through", that was enough for her. Not sure if it was all the kids running wild or the intensity of the water shooting into the air or seeing kids slipping and falling and crying, but Kayli said "No thank-you, let's move on" So we did... There was live music to dance to , inflatables to jump on, bubbles to blow, beads to string, PB& J for lunch, and generally just lots of kid fun!!!

There's Just Something Special 'Bout Boots!
We found some really cool, pink, furry, light-up, winter boots at a garage sale this weekend! Kayli has had them on her feet ever since. Since Kayli's two favorite clothing items are dresses and boots, we, of course are seeing alot of summer dresses and winter or rain boot combinations. What a fashion trend setter she is!

Maybe we just need to sleep on it...

Happy Thankful Mothers Day!
Let's start our day with something sweeter than mom, McDonald's Cinnamon Melts! Woohoo!
Mom also likes Cappucino!
You like my handprint?"
Kayli and I love to play the "I Love You More Than..." game. I will say "I love you more than flowers, or summer, or chocolate pudding, etc.." then, she'll say "I love you more than... and she loves to say something silly like green beans wearing underwear" so on this goes. Today, we played again and for Mother's Day, Kayli's list was as follows:
"I Love You More Than... ice cream, dandelions, my pink bunny, marshmallows wearing underwear (ha,ha,ha!) and then she launched into song with "aaaaand I love you in the morning, and in the afternooooon...oooh ski-ma-rink-ski-ma-rink... I loooooove youuuuu! Check out the video below:
AND some final thoughts about Mother's Day...
Mother’s Day is a special day to take time to thank your mom for all she does, or has done, to help you grow and “weather” the trials of life. I am quite thankful for the never ending support my mother has given me over the years. I continue to feel her arms reaching out from a place we call heaven, and feel strengthened by her ongoing support from afar.
On this Mother’s Day, I am not only thankful for my mom, but I’m thankful for my chance to BE a mom! I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to “mother” one very special child that, 2 years ago, I traveled halfway across the world for. I am so thankful for this sweet child needing me to be her mom. Each day I find a million new things to love about this little girl and my role as her mom! I savor the moments of motherhood as they rush by at lightning speed. I know only too well how important it is to cherish these moments, as they are memories in the making! Thank-you, Kayli, for giving me the best gift in the world, YOU!

Language "Try-Outs"
This is the age of “trying out” new words, phrases, and expressions. I am never disappointed in the entertainment value of these “try-outs” and often find it difficult to keep from laughing out loud. For example, the other day, after discovering that she left her shoes outside, I overheard Kayli exclaim in her tiny little voice “Oh, crack, I left my shoes outside!” I'm still laughing.
