Ho Ho Ho The Jolly Guy is Back!

What a wonderful, exciting moment it is when sometime around Thanksgiving we happen to be driving along the interstate and suddenly notice that the Bass Pro Shop is all aglow with twinkling lights and snow, and we instantly know that this means that the portable North Pole, and more importantly... Santa is back!!! This year, we noticed the glimmer of lights off in the distance, but there was a train parked on the tracks directly in front of the Bass Pro Shop, blocking our view from the interstate! It was a long train that stayed on those tracks for days, making it torturous for us to drive by and not be able to see!!! Finally, one magical day, the train was gone and we could see the place completely lit up, beckoning us to come in...
the letter writing station gives everyone a chance to create their wish list...
and after checking the list to make sure it's complete...
there's a special mail box that will route the letters straight back to the North Pole...
then, we head over to the carousel where it's always fun to take a ride on a reindeer...
there was a craft table for making a special ornament...
Now, if I can just get a few more photos in this beautiful winter wonderland...
and Kayli says "My face is getting tired from all this smiling"...
as Kayli walked in front of this reindeer, he began to talk! He had a funny voice and just cracked us up!
we had to stop and check out the giant bear...
there was a station with "The Elf on the Shelf" movie playing continuously...
naturally we decided to purchase our own DVD so we could watch the movie just as soon as we got home!
We did a bit of shopping, snapping pictures with my phone, just in case we wanted to add something to our wish list. Then we topped off our visit with a fabulous dinner in the restaurant where we used our ticket for a free kids meal! I indulged myself with a heavenly cheesy patty melt! Kayli and I shared the Orea cookie sundae for dessert, again, heaven! Now, we are totally ready to embrace the Christmas season!!!
