Happy Easter

Here comes Peter Cottontail, Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail...and I might add that the bunny trail seems to go straight through our backyard these days! Those crazy rabbits are everywhere! I think they set up their little home under my spirea bush, then come out now and then to hop around and "play tag" with Sprinkles. Oh well, as long as the Easter Bunny doesn't forget to make an appearance, we're good with it all! The Easter bunny did, in fact, make an appearance, and decided to hide Kayli's basket this year. I was telling Kayli just a few days ago, how after I reached a certain age, the Easter bunny decided I needed a bit of a challenge, and started hiding my basket. We wondered if that would start to happen to her pretty soon. Well, sure enough, I woke up Easter morning to find that Kayli had already been downstairs, discovering that her basket was not out in plain view, then hunting around the house until she found it!
Kayli was very excited to see that the Easter bunny had also left Sprinkles a wonderful treat...
The Easter bunny must have gotten the word that Kayli couldn't have gluten, dairy, or egg products, because there were plenty of things she could have instead like marshmallow peeps, jelly beans, gummy bears, skittles, and lifesaver gummies! There were so many fun things in this basket like glow in the dark chalk, bouncy silly putty, rubber bands for the rainbow loom, an Easter egg puzzle, and bubbles...
the family was gathering at Eileen & Gary's today. Kayli and I were in charge of getting Grandpa there, via special wheelchair accessible taxi service. So, I decided that the first order of business was to snap some photos in our back yard amidst the beautiful blooms before heading out for the day...
of course we had to take some time to swing, then we were off and running...
Grandpa made it to the party just fine, and was happy sipping on a glass of wine while all the commotion took place around him...
Kayli and Anna tried out the giant chalk Spiro-Graph I gave Kayli for Easter...
then, we all sat down to a fabulous meal together...
and while some were eating dessert, others were outside hiding plastic Easter eggs for the big hunt!
Here are the hunters, ready and waiting...
...and they're off...
ewww, there's bugs in there...
Adam's girlfriend offers to help, but then cousin Nick steps in and insists on saving the day...
never fear, Stephanie is about to have her chance to "save the day"...Adam got a little carried away with hiding eggs, and hid one in the tail pipe of Jim's car. Seemed like a good idea until it rolled into the pipe and could not be retrieved by Adam's hands or even the tools he was attempting to use. Stephanie quietly suggested that maybe she could give it a try, and with her petite hands, she ever-so-delicately managed to pull out first half of the plastic egg, then the melting peanut butter candy egg inside, then finally the last half of the egg, HURRAH!!! Stephanie saves the day!!!

she says to Adam "that probably wasn't one of your better ideas" Ha ha!
Since everything around the lake was starting to bloom, and looking so pretty...
it was calling out to this photographer to take some family photos. I had each family strike a variety of poses...

we missed having Matt here, as well as the Washington family: Robert, Ann, James, and Sean.
I did manage to hand the camera to someone to snap this photo of me and Kayli with her Grandpa...
After everyone had left, Kayli and Anna were still playing outside. They asked if they could walk down by the shore line to look for frogs, so I followed with my camera...
What a fabulous day this has been!
